Remedy Business Consulting Pty Ltd has been created to cater for the smaller business community.  Whilst we specialise in assisting small business, we have the capacity to provide guidance to large companies and businesses.

The Team:

Daniel (Dan) O'Connell, CA - Principle Consultant:

Dan has over 30 years of experience providing business consulting services to small and medium businesses, from small backyard tradesmen to corporations with turnover exceeding $1bn, from the Building & Construction to the Health & Finance Industries.

During the past 20 years, Dan has assisted in the growth of the Australian Unity Group which has interests in health insurance, retirement living, financial planning, investment products, and their recently acquired banking division. He joined as a consultant when the organisation was a small business and has assisted the development of the company by providing services in financial management, tax consulting, and acquisitions and mergers. Dan managed the conversion of the entity from a tax free to a taxable status, oversaw the implementation of GST, established automated tax processes and, as the group moved to an all electronically produced management reporting system, he developed the financial model that is the core of the system.

Dan has now returned to providing his services as a business consultant for small and medium-sized businesses. Dan has a passion to assist small businesses to become sustainable, efficient and productive. 

Dan has a Bachelor of Business (Acc) degree from Swinburne University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand.

Whilst Dan is no longer seeking new clients, he is willing to consider requests for assistance from active businesses and not for profit organisations.

Kate O'Connell  - Senior Accountant:

Kate has 10 years accounting and bookkeeping experience in mid-sized firms as well as directly for members of the public.  She has experience with the main accounting systems (Reckon, MYOB and Xero) in preparing accounts and perfromimg payroll duties.  She is experienced at completing BAS, IAS and Superannuation returns.  Kate has worked with Remedy for the past 5 years and is currently working out of London (UK).

Kate has an accounting degree from the Melbourne Polytechnic.

Prior to joining Remedy, Janet was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. Janet brought her organisational and people management skills to her role of Office Manager. Janet organises our filing mess, manages the office when all else is out of control and keeps the staff in line and on the job.

Janet has degrees in Nursing and Neuroscience - related to her role in the health industry.
